High-aluminum high-strength castables are one type of low-cement castables with a cement content of less than 8%. What is different from ordinary refractory castables is that, most of the calcium aluminate cement in the matrix is replaced by ultrafine powder, and at the same time, an appropriate amount of additives is added to achieve and exceed the performance of ordinary cement castables.
Features of High strength High Alumina Castables
♦The low content of cement(calcium oxide) in this castable, reduces the generation of low-melts in the material, thereby improving the refractoriness, high-temperature strength and slag resistance of the product.
♦The mixing water consumption of this castable is only about one-half of that of the ordinary castable, thus increasing the compactness of the castable and reducing the porosity.
♦After forming and curing, there is a little cement hydrate. When heating and baking, there is no large amount of water leakage, which reduces the medium temperature strength. Instead, as the temperature increases, the material gradually is gradually sintered and the strength is continuously improved.
